We all creep out from that familiar bone-crushing sound we hear when playing Mortal Kombat with our friends, but you must admit it certainly creates a completely unique gaming atmosphere. That’s why it’s always boring to play games or watch movies at our friend’s who don’t have a powerful set of PC speakers connected to their desktop or laptop.
To avoid this and take the gaming party to your place we’ve selected the best PC speakers money can buy. Don’t worry, we’ve included some affordable options as well.
Before we dig deep into the overall quality of each product that we’ve included in this article, let’s see what you actually need to keep an eye on when choosing the next set of desktop speakers.
Featuring spacious and lifelike sound thanks to Bose’s TrueSpace stereo digital processing circuitry. You’ll notice a deeper low-end performance and more detailed sound.
How to Choose The Best PC Speakers
The first thing you need to take into consideration is your personal preference. You’ll need to get a set of cans that you actually like because you’ll be seeing them every single day. Aesthetically you want a pair of speakers that look great next to your pc, ones that you don’t deem to be ugly and that fit in with the style you are going for.
Now that we have that out of the way, let’s check out some of the most important factors that will shape your decision:
Well duh .. We all have a certain price in mind when we start browsing for a new item we would like to add to our audio arsenal, but as my family likes to say: “The math is different when you arrive at the market”. And they’re right. You may only want to spend $50 on your new pair of desktop speakers, but there’s a huge chance a product from this category won’t satisfy your needs in terms of longevity and sound quality. Go through our review carefully, scrape the web for some useful customer reviews, do whatever it takes to educate yourself on the matter, but at the end, you’ll need to accept one simple truth. In most scenarios, you’ll end up spending a bit more just to get speakers that fall in the upper-quality class and get more value for your money.
We mentioned this earlier, but it’s not only crucial you get a design you like, you also need to take into consideration how will the new set of speakers fit with the rest of the elements found on your desk and even the furniture surrounding it. Besides the obvious feng shui criteria, you need to be careful with the positioning of your speakers, especially if they have a dedicated subwoofer. This powerful little beast has the tendency to transfer vibrations from its core to the walls around it, which can cause lots of problems with your neighbors. Yes, even desktop speakers have the power to make ruckus even without the help of a woofer.
Quality of build
This one is really hard to determine especially if you’re getting your new desktop speakers from places like Amazon and eBay. You don’t always get what you see on the picture that is available online and that’s why it’s always a good idea to go to a local store where they sell the model or really dig deep into customer reviews. We did that for you when selecting the best PC speakers on this list, so you don’t have anything to worry about when you decide to go with one of our top choices.
The main reason why you’re getting a desktop speaker in the first place is that you want to enhance your audio experience in the commodity of your home. You’re not trying to impress anyone, you just want to have better sound when playing your favorite video game or just enjoying some of those old school rap songs you enjoyed as a kid. The sound clearness and power are highly related to the quality of built and these two components shape the price tag. Yes, there are some products that are hyped by their manufacturer and the community based on their design or purely the brand name they carry, but we’ve stayed clear of such selections because we don’t want to disappoint you and lose the trust you have in our website.
There are a couple of things you should really be careful with and there’s nothing more important than having a quality subwoofer driver. This element doesn’t need to exist separately from the satellite speaker although it’s always a good thing to have a powerful bass dedicated box beneath your desk. The best type of desktop speaker is the one that incorporates both a driver that can tweeter. The driver should be capable of catching extremely low fidelity sounds and the role of the tweeter is to give your high pitched sounds the right direction so they don’t mix with your treble.
Size and weight
One thing that people forget is that they’ll need to place that huge 12” box somewhere near their desk as it must be close to the satellite speakers. In most cases the woofer powers the speakers, so the two can’t operate without each other. If the choice you make doesn’t feature a dedicated subwoofer, you’ll just need to figure out where to place the speakers and get the maximum out of your new toy. Remember, placement plays a huge role in the level of audio quality you’ll be able to achieve.
This should help you develop the right line of thought before getting your new set of desktop speakers, but there are also various other aspects to consider that are specific to each product. The items on this best PC speakers list have proven their quality time over time again and the goal of this article is to provide you with a curated selection of products that won’t disappoint you rather than forcing a particular item.
Each one of the items here is a great bargain, It all depends on how much you`re willing to spend, and what you hope to get out of it. This is why we’ve divided the products into two categories: wired and wireless. For those of you, that really don’t care whether they can connect their speakers using a wireless method (Bluetooth) pay close attention to the first five speakers. The rest of you that want fancier wireless computer speakers, just jump to the next section where we cover the best ones in great detail.
The 5 Best Wired PC Speakers:
7.5″ x 3.1″ x 5.9″
(L) 1.8lbs; (R) 2.3 lbs
Bose is known for their carefully selected line of headphones, but the company has recently ventured into creating some really great PC speakers. The Companion 2 Series III is their most affordable product from this group.
With dimensions of 7.5 x 3.1 x 5.9 inches, this pair of wired speakers have that distinguished elegant look of the Bose brand that will allow you to use them in both a home and a professional environment. The angles of the speakers are positioned slightly upwards, so that the sound can be directed towards your ears, leaving less room for soundwave dispersion.
When talking about specifications and dimensions it’s interesting to note how the left speaker (2.3 pounds) is a little bit heavier than the right one (1.8 pounds). With the total weight being a tad over 5 pounds, we are forced to consider this pair of PC speakers as lightweight to some extent. On the other hand, this provides us with enough ground to assume that all of the components inside of the speakers are of high quality and will last a long time on your computer desk.
The right unit is the motherboard of the entire system, it has provision for both the headphone jack and the knob used for volume control. That’s what you’ll see on the front of the panel while all the necessary elements that allow you to connect the speakers with a sound source are placed on the back side. We were disappointed to notice how there’s no USB option available and you’re practically forced to use solely an AC adapter.
The positive in terms of connectivity is that you have two RCA inputs on disposal and you’ll get the chance to use one for your PC and the other will always be free for you to plug in your cell or iPod. Yes, both audio sources can work together at the same time so you’ll get the privilege of hearing all notification sounds coming from your PC while you play music from your stereo.
TrueSpace Stereo Signal Processing Circuitry
Although it may not provide a potent bass, this Bose model still manages to reproduce a decent amount of low fidelity tones without mixing them with mid and high pitched tones. This is probably because of the TrueSpace Stereo Signal Processing Circuitry method the company has developed throughout the years whose primary goal is to enhance the sound imaging of speakers that are placed too close together.
The technology also focuses on the clearness of the sound produced by these PC speakers, so you won’t need to play around with the equalizer settings that much, no matter if you’re listening to your favorite artist or just playing Fortnite.
Gaming vs. Music
When tested for this computer speakers review we found out how the Companion 2 Series III performs better for gaming purposes as they manage to control the high pitched sounds (shooting and screaming effects) and combine the bass in a way that doesn’t interfere with the rest of the sound waves. The music reproduction capacity is somewhat limited to genres that don’t feature many instruments at the same time, so if you’re all about acid jazz you’re good to go, but you may consider another option if you want to listen to rock symphonies on your PC.
All in all, the third release of the Companion model by Bose is probably the most value-added product you’ll get from the company as they’re not up in the clouds with their price tag compared to the sound quality they provide.
4.2″ x 8.5″ x 5.7″
We never would’ve thought we’d include a Klipsch product on our list of best PC speakers, but the ProMedia 2.1 really forced us in doing so.
Hitting the market in November of 2002, the three item stereo kit managed to surprise even the pickiest audiophiles with the sound clarity it provides. Although you may find some cheaper options that fall in the 2.1 pack, the Klipsch has lots of positive things to offer that will make you feel like you got a bargain for your money.
A deep low frequency that is well separated from mid and high notes is one of the many things you’ll like about this model. The main reason why the ProMedia 2.1 is capable of producing such a heavy bass line is because of the satellite technology that brings 25 watts of power supported by a powerful 130-watt subwoofer all packed in a throw driver with dimensions of 6.5 inches in diameter.
The quality of build is also impressive and the best feature we would like to emphasize in this category is the metal stand upon which the two speakers rest. You’ll be able to control the volume and plug in your headphones using the volume and subwoofer knobs smartly placed just next to the headphone on the right speaker.
The frequency range isn’t spectacular as it’s limited between 32 Hz and 20 KHz, but this isn’t a huge swing factor as we all know how desktop speakers usually don’t have a very low FR. You won’t be using the ProMedia 2.1 to organize the next block party. They’re just a high-quality audio outlet that needs to sound good while you’re gaming or listening to some music in your room.
When confronted with music records featuring some really powerful bass the speakers perform at an optimal level. You’ll be able to differentiate drum kicks from bass notes, but this level may not be clear enough for professional usage. Once you start gaming or watching a movie that features more high-end tones, you’ll notice how there’s almost zero distortion and you’ll need to pump up the volume to the max, which gives you somewhere around 106dB of pure insanity. You need only 14 more dB to reach the volume level marked as a pain-causing threshold.
That’s why the ProMedia 2.1 is considered to be one of the best PC speakers designed for gaming purposes. I mean, you must admit. Two blasting drivers positioned on both sides of your screen and a subwoofer beneath the table is a serious addition to your gaming arsenal. In most cases, you won’t even notice any crackling or distortion like sounds, but you should be careful when turning up the volume to the max.
The Bottom Line
The bottom line is that the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 should be somewhere on the top of this computer speakers review list, but we’ll try and give a chance to some other models that offer the same features while having a lower price tag.
If you’re looking for a set of speakers that will offer both a great gaming experience and could act as a powerful addition to your home theater, then you should give this model a serious consideration.
RCA; 3.5mm AUX

We’ve all fallen victim to the habits of our modern age where iPod docks have replaced desktop speakers till the extent where you need to dig deep to find a new release from any of the leading companies in the industry.
Logitech has developed a niche market with their focus on creating the best PC speakers they possibly can. I remember my first set of computer speakers came from this company and I can’t say anything bad about them to date.
They served their purpose while I was playing NBA Live 2000 and managed to produce a more than decent sound quality with clean drum kicks and a soft bass that doesn’t cause distortion.
Things have changed since then and so did our expectations in the same timespan. Instead of a pair of cans capable of reproducing sound waves, we’re looking for the latest state of the art technology that will allow you to enjoy the latest Kendrick Lamar track.
Logitech understands how we always want the best of both worlds and that’s why they’ve created this highly functional set of speakers with a built-in ability to play your favorite genre on the top level. The price tag disqualifies the Z623 from the running for a most affordable set of desktop speakers, but this was never the goal for the manufacturer and you’ll be most pleasantly surprised by the level of sound quality this home entertainment worthy item has to offer.
The innovative THX technology is present with this model as well, which makes the product a great fit for audiophiles that just enjoy watching their favorite movie with the volume set to the max. They’re also good for gaming and music listening, but they surely excel when movie scenes are in question.
This wouldn’t be possible without the surprisingly strong subwoofer that performs well during parties and quite romantic nights with your girl. You’ve come here for a computer speakers review and you’re probably surprised by the potential role the Z623 could play in your home entertainment theater, so let’s see how the design of the entire system is connected with the set of functionalities it provides.
The first thing you should be aware of is the unusual size of the entire speaker system that measures 7.8 x 5.6 x 5.4 inches you’ll need to figure out where to place it. Your computer desk may not be big enough for these types of speakers. They’re stereo speakers, so they’ll need their space and a clear path to the ceiling because they take a slightly upward angle. Their high angle together with the slightly wider shape compared to other desktop speakers make the Logitech Speaker System Z623 a perfect option for gaming, music listening, partying and watching a movie.
The all in one mindset is also presented through the inclusion of three different knobs responsible for the control of the following functions: volume, bass, and power. All of this together with the subwoofer cable and the connection with the left paneled speaker can be found on the right-sided speaker. If you’re careful, you’ll also notice two 3.5 mm connection plugs where you can connect with other devices using the auxiliary input or the headphone jack.
If you thought the speakers are enormous, then you don’t want to hear the size of the subwoofer. Standing at whopping 11.9 x 11.1 x 10.4 inches this may be one of the biggest reasons why someone wouldn’t consider this product among the best PC speakers available on the market. Gigantic size means out of this world sound volume and this is also true with this rogue Logitech model.
Although it can provide a powerful deep bass line, you can also take control in your own hands with the help of that handy little knob conveniently placed on the front of the right speaker. This is how you control the subwoofer levels and there’s a click mechanism right at the middle of the circle that acts as a signalization for flat response levels, but in most cases, you’ll need to go a bit further behind that border if you want to get the clearest most honest sound possible.
The Logitech Z623 is one nasty PC speaker ready to make your LED screen shatter if you turn it up to the max. It provides 35 watts of pure sound energy on both satellite speakers and a 130 watts coming from the subwoofer. This is enough to power up an entire party in your backyard and the best part is that you won’t notice any distortion.
This is one of the rare 2.1 audio systems that doesn’t mix the low pitched tones with the mid and high ones like many other products manufactured by some of Logitech’s biggest competitors.
It’s a tough call deciding on which are the best PC speakers currently available as you need to take into consideration various factors from sound imaging to price to value ratio, but it seems like other items on this list will need to step up their game to take down the Z623 200 Watt speaker system created by Logitech from the top spot in our hearts.
4.8″ x 3.5″ x 9.4″
Finally, one affordable product on our best PC speakers list that won’t cost you hundreds of dollars and you’ll still get that high-quality sound you’re after.
Coming from a line of wildly successful desktop speakers in the likes of its less powerful Z50 and Z150 predecessors, the Z200 Stereo option created by Logitech is a quality solution for both gamers and audiophile beginners that just want to take their music experience to the next level, but aren’t ready to spend that much money on their equipment.
There are a couple of color variants you can choose from including the white/black and black/grey variations, but no matter what you decide to go with you’ll be amazed by the minimalistic design of this home stereo system. Placed on tall and rugged plastic holders with a touch of that good old industrial design the Z200 will fit almost anywhere and you won’t need that much space to mount the pair.
There’s a huge knob on the front of the right speaker where you can set the volume level you desire and you’ll find two jacks surrounding this part of the speaker. This is where you can plug in your headphone set or just connect the speakers with any other device that has an option to use an auxiliary cable. The back side of the right speaker is where you’ll find all the necessary cables to plug in the set to your PC and to a suitable power source.
There’s no Bluetooth connectivity option, so you’ll need to use a cable to play music from your phone, which strongly affects the portability aspect this product has to offer. They’re not the most functional pair of PC speakers, but they’ll do the trick because the quality of built helps the drivers on the inside create a distortion-free sound capable of reaching high volume levels.
You may experience slight problems when playing heavy bass music, but you can always reduce the bass level using the knob we mentioned earlier on and trust me when I say how you’ll need to put these two drivers through a lot to make them squeak.
Without a subwoofer to power up the low-frequency range, you’re left with a tone control option located on the right side of the right speaker, which will allow you to emphasize either the low or mid and high pitched sounds. This is a great way to prepare yourself for different types of possible usage like gaming, movies, and music.
They may not create the clearest sound compared to other desktop computer speakers, but for the price they’re going for, they’re just a complete bargain. It’s not only because of the slick design but the more than decent sound quality and imaging they provide. You can immediately forget about tuning them up to the perfect V-shaped sound curve and let yourself enjoy all the good things that the Z200 speaker provides.
When talking about cheap solutions this is the product leading the pack, but if you have a slightly bigger budget of let’s say 100$, feel free to explore some of the other options on our list.
Those of you that just want an audio outlet that will look good next to their pc screen, this model will do the trick and you’ll even be able to watch movies with them and play some of your favorite games without noticing any crackling sound. This is probably the best-wired speaker you can get for under $30 and it’s always a positive they’re coming from a trusted brand like Logitech.
AUX; TRS; RCA
5.6″ x 6.4″ x 8.3″
The important thing when looking for any type of new product to add to your audiophile collection is to stay open to items that may fall into a different category. That’s why we’ve scraped the web for professional solutions as well. This wouldn’t be a list of the best PC speakers if we failed to include all available options.
Value for Money
The best value for money we found was the PreSonus Eris E3.5 speaker that both looks and sounds like it was taken directly from a recording studio. These all black reference monitors are aimed towards professional users, but their price tag makes them affordable even for novice audio enthusiasts and people that just want to take their gaming experience to the next level.
These slick looking babies have been designed to help people record their music, so producing an honest and clear sound was a number one priority when the team at PreSonus developed the inside of the speaker.
They’re bulky, but there’s a good reason for this and its name is Kevlar. One of the best woofers money can get (well at least when you’re looking for 100$ speakers) that will allow you to listen to bass heavy music without any distortion issues. The woofer works well together with the dome-shaped silk tweeter and manages to separate the lows from the mids and highs.
You’re getting pretty close to the V-shaped sound signature curve and we couldn’t be happier that we included a speaker that will allow you to pump up the volume and enjoy a really crisp sound. Something you don’t find that often with desktop speakers of any kind.
The sound is exact and it won’t enhance any part of the sound wave spectrum, so people that enjoy that enhanced sound you get with almost every multimedia speaker may be disappointed when they hear how clean the Eris E3.5 sounds.
An interesting tip we would like to share with you that doesn’t relate to the other products on this list as they’re solely PC speakers is that you would like to place the speakers away from your walls because you don’t want the vibration they’ll create to ruin your overall experience.
If you’re forced to do so because of the size of the room you are in, just make sure you use the fine tuning option that will allow you to decrease the level of low-frequency sounds and give the mid and high notes some room to breathe. The perfect level you can go up to without compensation on both sound quality and volume is probably somewhere around the 6dB mark.
Possessing an AB class amplification system allows the speakers to make use of the full 50 watts of power. This is probably the biggest advantage these speakers have over the rest of the pack as you’ll get both a sound blasting machine and a sound system capable of producing clean sound when that is required.
You only need to set the E3.5s to the Unity settings option and you’ll create an environment where low pitched sounds actually go up as you pump up the volume instead of only creating more noticeable distortions like some options we haven’t even included on the list.
The acoustic tuning feature is discretely placed on the back of the right speaker and this is where you’ll also find all possible input options. Besides the usual RCA connection, you’ll get the chance to use all of your other musical devices and outlets with the help of the TRS input. In addition to all of this you also get an auxiliary input option and a plug for your headphones.
It seems like PreSonus have created a monster of a product that will enhance your audio experience in your home and work environment when connected to your pc. With all the features included in the design, this pair of speakers gives you a huge value for your money.

The 5 Best Wireless PC Speakers:
10.0″ x 8.1″ x 15.9″
Another Logitech entry made the cut, but what can we do when the company creates such a huge number of high-quality speakers. The G560 model is one of their best products and the overall exterior design only supports this statement.
Besides a high-quality clear sound with separated lows and highs, the pair of speakers is also equipped with subtle LED lights that will create an amusing light show while you’re playing your favorite music or playing another round of LOL.
With the inclusion of a powerful subwoofer, this item becomes a home theater worthy piece of equipment, which isn’t that surprising taking into account the history Logitech has with similar products. They’ve clearly tried to create a set that will satisfy vivid audio junkies and their music needs, but also have the average gamer in mind when creating some of the colorful scenes each RPG title has to offer.
Design & Setup
What makes this one of the best wireless speakers for computer usage is the quality of build combined with the unusual designs that set them in a category of their own when compared to other available choices on the market.
When you open the box you’ll notice tons of cables and plugs, but don’t worry because the setup guide printed out on the box is extremely easy to follow. The first thing you’ll need to consider is finding a suitable spot for the bulky subwoofer. The two speakers aren’t the problem as they’re extremely lightweight and won’t take that much space on your desk. The subwoofer is a giant compared to them and you’ll want to place it somewhere on the floor away from your walls. It has the capacity to create a strong and powerful bass line, so you’d like to avoid distortion and vibration noises transferred through the walls of your room.
Once you’re all set it’s time to connect the speakers with the subwoofer and plug them into an electrical source. They connect with your computer using a USB cord and you’ll find most of the control functions on the right speaker. On top of it, you have a volume and LED level controls as well as a Bluetooth and power ON/OFF buttons on the back.
If you’re all about looks and want a subtle item laying on top of your desk, you’ll fall in love with the G560 because its speakers feature a truly distinct shape that may go unnoticed when you combine them with all the other things you got going on around your PC. The subwoofer has a simple all black rectangle shape that is pretty much in stealth mode until you crank up the bass volume.
The size or better said width of the speakers is above average, so if you’re looking for a more functional set of vertical speakers that won’t take that much surface from your desk, it’s probably smart to check some of the other options out here before deciding what are the best PC speakers for your needs.
One of the biggest drawbacks besides the width of the speakers is the fact that they’re directly connected with the subwoofer, so you won’t be able to turn it off and use only the speakers. This can be a game changer for people that don’t want to enjoy a deep bass line all the time.
A great way to pass go around this is to decrease the bass level using the Gaming Software that comes together with the speakers or just use your headphones by plugging them in using the jack found on the back of the right speaker.
This is a set of speakers that will produce a deep bass line that you’ll feel in your gut when you crank the volume to the max or even somewhere in the middle of the scale. Gamers that want to feel every bomb they throw and music lovers that enjoy pumping up the bass will love these speakers. Heck, you can even use them as a part of your home entertainment system with the power and sound clarity they provide.
If you’re looking for a long-term solution that you can use in a variety of cases and you’re ready to invest some serious cash, this is the pair of wireless computer speakers you want to go with.
AUX; RCA; Bluetooth
9.1″ x 9.1″ x 6.2″
Yep, it’s Logitech again and we’re already confident how this company has enough quality speakers to fill an entire list. Believe us, we’ve tried to diversify the selection, but compared to other options on the market we just couldn’t resist the sound quality and the design of the Logitech line.
The Z337 finds its place somewhere between a high-quality home entertainment audio equipment piece and a powerful wireless computer speaker set that sounds good enough to enhance both your gaming and musical experience.
When the delivery man comes knocking on your door and you first open the package you’ll notice three all black elements that look like they’ve been taken from a sci-fi movie set and placed just next to your PC screen. The two satellite speakers feature solely a driver and the Logitech logo on the front, so it’s quite normal to ask yourself where are all the control options located?
You will be surprised to find out that there’s a completely separate control pod that allows you to take control of the volume level and plug in your headphone set without the need to have the speakers located anywhere close to your PC. This allows you to create a setup where you’ll get the most of these wireless computer speakers by playing around with the sound direction, which is extremely important when trying to create a perfect sound image.
You can place the gigantic subwoofer on the floor and the speakers on two opposite sides of your desk, while having the control pod somewhere close to your reach so that you can play around with the volume and bass levels at will. When it comes to controlling, it’s fair to say how you won’t have an ultimate grip on the sound levels because the set features only a bass and treble management options.
The bass quality is really good, which is probably the case with almost every Logitech set of wireless computer speakers, but it may sound a bit underwhelming when you lower it down because of the ever-present effect of the treble.
Even when you decide to go with an almost silent bass, which usually happens at night when you don’t want to wake up the neighbors with some nasty wall vibrations, you’ll be able to enjoy a well balanced and clear sound. Once you start pumping up the bass to the max, it will become more dominant, but it will still leave enough room for the mid and high pitched tones to kick in.
When you use a wireless connection you’ll be able to control everything from the comfort of your sofa, but if you’re an audiophile that wants to mess around with the bass level you’ll constantly need to get up and manage this aspect using the knob on the back of the subwoofer.
This is also the place where all the cable plugs are placed, set of audio entries that give you the ability to connect your Logitech Z337 with almost any possible device.
Considering the quality of build and the inclusion of an almost remote control pod that will put you in a position to get the most out of this desktop speakers, the price tag of $99 sounds like a huge bargain for a piece of audio equipment you can use both as a well-performing set of wireless speakers for computer usage and a home entertainment system that provides clear and powerful sound.
Logitech has really upped their game when PC desktop speakers come into question, so all of you who are looking for a sure bet, this is the company you should follow devotedly.
7.3″ x 3.3″ x 7.3″
Finally, a pair of desktop speakers that aren’t manufactured by Logitech and their astonishing line of PC audio equipment. Yamaha, a giant in the audio equipment industry, has finally made an astonishing item that can go toe to toe with some of the best wireless computer speakers on this list and even be considered as a great home entertainment system addon.
The classy black and gray design will go well with almost any setup you have got going on and you won’t be forced to find a place for a large subwoofer unit because there is none. Yes, you read right, these black boxes come in a set that only includes two satellite speakers and no subwoofer to increase the bass volume, probably because you’re already getting enough power from the drivers.
The frequency range goes as low as 55 Hz and this is mainly due to the quality of build of the bottom driver that can reproduce some really deep bass lines and make them mix well with the line of higher pitched tones you’re capable of throwing at it.
Similar to the NX-50
The model has its similarities when compared to its predecessor the Yamaha NX-50, but the biggest difference between the two is the B55s capability of being able to connect to almost any device using Bluetooth technology adding a wireless twist to the line. Thus the “B” in the name of the product.
What this model took from the NX-50 is the sound imaging oriented design. There’s a reason why the two speakers are tilted a little bit upwards and it’s not because the designers needed to make them look cool. Yamaha understands how sound direction is crucial when creating a set of speakers capable of producing high endnotes with a clear voice that won’t vibrate through your desk.
That’s why they’ve applied the tilt-back type of look with the NX-B55 model and haven’t made a mistake at all by doing so. There’s a high probability you’ll place these two just next to your screen, which gives you no room to breathe and can make the sound travel directly in your face. With this innovative design, the manufacturer makes sure that the sound that the B55 creates will disperse well throughout the room you’re in.
The variety of input methods allows you to use more than two audio sources at the same time. One will be connected using one of the 3.5 mm jack and the other will employ the Bluetooth technology present with the speakers. Another innovation that Yamaha brings to the table is the auto-mix option that gives you the opportunity to play your favorite music and get all the possible notifications from your PC happening in the background.
The front panel is equipped with all the necessary control options and you can also put the speakers on standby when you’re not using them avoiding the need to shut them down anytime you close your computer.
Built-in Volume Control
You also won’t need to play around with the balance settings as there’s a built-in volume control that boosts the bass level when necessary and levels up the treble to the required amount. Something you don’t see with most of the wireless speakers for computers these days and another proof of the high-quality level Yamaha adhere to.
This is a pair of wireless computer speakers that provides a nice class upgrade to almost any surrounding and provides a well balanced and clear sound without the help of a separate subwoofer. For people that have the extra dollar they want to spend on audio equipment, this is probably the best choice they have.
21.7″ x 12.6″ x 5.6″
One of the things we’ve noticed while creating this list was the monotonous design and coloring of all the speakers. Black and gray cubicle look, with the exception of the Logitech G560, it came as a huge surprise and refreshment when we stumbled upon the Edifier e25 Luna Eclipse model.
These wireless computer speakers are state of the art audio equipment you will love to brag about in front of your friends and they don’t fall back when it comes to audio reproduction as well. The curvy design isn’t the only thing that Edifier as a manufacturer managed to bring to the table in an innovative manner. You’ll also love the controls that trigger solely by the touch of your finger compared to the rogue knobs present with other items on this list.
It’s true how we’ve included the e25s on this best PC speakers list primarily because of their elliptical futuristic design and the matte red colored finish that’s certainly unusual, but don’t think that these wireless speakers aren’t any good for computer usage. They excel in their design yet they manage to keep up the pace with industry giants like Logitech and Yamaha when we talk sound reproduction.
If you’re looking for a less invasive color option, you can go with the white variation that may aesthetically go better with the PC setup you have. People tend to connect interesting designs with lack of functionality, but this isn’t the case when we overview the quality of built the Luna Eclipse has to offer.
The base of each speaker is flat, so you can rest assured they’ll stand still on your desk and they’re surprisingly stable considering the weight they carry inside that oval shape. The right speaker is once again the central point even with this creative system. This is the place where you’ll find the touch-sensitive volume controls and a LED indicator that shows whether your speakers are paired with another device using Bluetooth or not.
There’s also an interesting cut out on the back of each speaker that supports the flow of the entire design, but it also acts as a direct support to the woofer placed on the back of each driver unit.
Yes, these speakers lack a dedicated subwoofer, but there’s a big enough woofer based driver in each one of them that lays down the ground for a balanced sound reproduction capable of going deep for your bass and avoiding treble spills when you crank up the volume.
You will be pleased to find out that these speakers come with a remote control so that you can utilize them as party speakers as well. This makes these wireless computer speakers a unique choice because no other item on this list has a remote included in the basic package. People will argue how you can always control the volume using the device mounted to the speakers at the moment, but what happens when you’re listening to some music originating from the USB connection to the speakers. You’ll need to stand up from the comfort of your chair and go to the speakers to control the volume.
Extremely functional pair of wireless desktop speakers that produces a deep bass line without the need of a bulky subwoofer. The sound is clear and you’ll be able to control it with the handy remote you get. What more to look from a pair of wireless PC speakers.
3.54″ x 3.54″ x 7.48″
When you’re looking for a good, quality pair of wireless computer speakers you ideally want to get a product that has a balanced connection portfolio supporting both wireless and cable-based audio inputs.
This is exactly what you get with the Avantree SP750 and its ability to reproduce music from sources connected via Bluetooth and an auxiliary cable. No matter the input method you choose to go with at the end you’ll get perfect sound clarity featuring a more than decent bass level. To improve the quality of the low frequency notes Avantree has included a passive radiator whose role is to stabilize the bass the speakers produce.
You’ll be able to connect any possible device that has Bluetooth, so the 10 watts of power you get from the speakers will be triggered anywhere from up to ten meters away. The discoverability mode of the speakers can be turned off and on using a button placed on the front side of the right driver, the same exact spot where you’ll find the volume control knob and the headphone plug-in jack.
There’s nothing fancy when you look at the overall design of the set, but we must admit the one colored classic outline looks subtle when you place it next to your PC. The build quality is impressive for an item in this price range and you’ll also get a 24-month long warranty, so quality certainly isn’t an issue.
All of this makes the SP750 2.1 a great choice for people looking into getting a portable set of speakers that can connect with any type of audio device, but what about the sound quality they provide?
People in the industry tend to relate the size of the speakers to the maximum volume level they can provide and this is somewhat true. Speakers need enough space so they’re capable of employing the entire power at their disposal.
Value For Money
Considering the size of this Avantree model we were surprised by the quality of the sound they create and how well they handle high volumes of music that has both low and high pitched tones. They won’t win any bass awards as their frequency range begins at 100 Hz. We all know the lower the better in terms of low fidelity sounds, but this is not something that prevents the SP750s to control both ends of the spectrum. Even the high end of the FR scale isn’t that high, set at 18 kHz, though you won’t ever need to regularly listen to sounds above this border.
The sound you get from this reasonably priced model is crisp and always on time providing you with a clean vocal image that cleanly separates the three different sound levels before they get out of the box.
Audiophiles trying to add a piece of equipment to their PC that’s capable of waking up the neighbors with the help of the vibrations the bass produces should probably look around and find a better fit among the other products on the list. The reason why this is the case is that this remote set of speakers isn’t equipped with a subwoofer, which is kind of disappointing. If they had this element included in the mix, the price tag of $60 would be a true bargain.
You’ll get nice value for your money even with this construction because they’re a 2.1 audio system after all, but the bass can be underwhelming when certain music genres are played.
The low-frequency range allows you to push the volume to the max without having to worry about distortion like sounds that will affect your audio experience. Combined with the nice left and right separation of the stereo technology, the Avantree team has successfully built a pair of wireless speakers for computer usage that won’t decimate your budget.
